 The problem is also present on amd64:

 > uname -a
 FreeBSD mobileKamikaze.norad 8.0-STABLE FreeBSD 8.0-STABLE #0: Tue Dec 15 22:48:25 CET 2009     root at mobileKamikaze.norad:/usr/obj/HP6510b-8/amd64/usr/src/sys/HP6510b-8  amd64

 I can provide more details. I'd really like to see this work.
