No, but a few more datapoints:
- it only affects real network connections - localhost is unaffected
- The problem also occurs when pinging FreeBSD 7.x from linux but not
  when the same linux system pings a Winbloze box.
- Pinging either linux or winbloze from FreeBSD 7.x fails.
