gotcha, thanks a lot for the explanation :)
(I have to get bsd to connect to a VPNs ended in sonicwall devices... I gave up a few months back, but i will try now again as soon as things stabilise themselves again.)
NAT-T is needed for connecting to (these) sonicwalls
