res_nmkquery() and res_nsend() ?

Hi;

I was checking the Debian GNU-BSD list and they reported this to the NetBSD
people:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-bsd/2003/debian-bsd-200307/msg00010.html
For those too lazy:
"The res_mkquery() and res_send() functions have been deprecated in favour of
res_nmkquery() and res_nsend() for long time and are being removed from
Glibc for newer ABI versions.

This particularly includes x86_64-*, powerpc64-*, *-gnu and *-k*bsd-gnu,
but more are to come.

libhesiod uses these functions in ./hesiod.c and thus won't build for
these systems."

I think obsolete (used in the subject of the original email) is too harsh a
word for res_mkquery and res_send, but the Solaris manpage I checked does
include res_n* .

Perhaps someone that knows well the particular RFCs may want to look at this.

cheers,

   Pedro.
