Hi,
basically I'm using packages, but in case of VLC I'm using the port
because of UPnP missing in the binary package. After I got my quarterly
package update yesterday I've started to compile VLC again and it fails:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
[…]
checking X11/Xlib.h usability... no
checking X11/Xlib.h presence... no
checking for X11/Xlib.h... no
checking for XCB... no
configure: error: Package requirements (xcb >= 1.6) were not met:
Package 'xproto', required by 'xau', not found
Package 'xproto', required by 'xdmcp', not found
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively, you may set the environment variables XCB_CFLAGS
and XCB_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
[…]
------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the whole system runs default settings there shouldn't be
environment variables which are to be set (and beside of this I
wouldn't know how to set them - even Google tells me no example for
values for something like XCB_CFLAGS). And of course everything onmy
computer using standard paths, too.
As suggested by "make" I attach the generated file "config.log" to this
mail, also the list of installed packages.
Thanks for the port!
Ciao,
:) Jo
