I have same problem on Acer V3-772G (Pegatron VA70HW rev 2.0) with FreeBSD 10,
11,12 - no sound and message from kernel "pcm0: ...... play interrupt timeout,
channel dead".
This codec works fine with Azalia driver on NetBSD or OpenBSD.
Please try sysctl dev.hdac.0.polling=1, this setting helps some people do this
codec works.
