Just to inform all who search for a solution with a similar card: the 
emu10kx-driver does not work for this Audigy, and I doubt if it will work for 
other Creative 24bit-cards (newer Audigies, Live!24bit, etc) since those 
aren't based on the old Audigy chipsets.

Besides, after trying with OSS and googling a bit, the card seems to be locked 
somehow. You seem to have to boot into an OS that uses a Creative driver in 
order to unlock it.

Again: are there snippets of code somewhere which can be seen as a start for 
using these chipsets? I'm not much of a coder, but I can look in to it :)
