The result of ifconfig is:
freebsd-box#  ifconfig -v wpi0
ifconfig: interface wpi0 does not exist

the result for dmesg is:
freebsd-box# dmesg |grep wpi
Preloaded elf module "/boot/kernel/wpifw.ko" at
0xc087d578.
firmware: 'wpifw' version 2144: 149652 bytes loaded at
0xc07e9520
