acer travelmate 252 and acpi

Howdy all, I have installed freebsd 6.2 onto an acer travelmate 252 laptop, and I must disable acpi or the laptop freezes during bootup, I would like to fix the problem and enable acpi so I can use suspend and other battery power saving tools.
