I'm trying to get 'direct rendering' running on a R51 (centrino with
Pentium M and Ati Mobility 9000 gpu) ... with 6-stable & X.org 6.9 ....
agp in kernel
everything is installed from ports
all needed X.org modules installed (dri etc.)
xorg.conf has been checked and checked again
dmesg | grep drm --> absolutely no information
dmesg | agp --> is ok.
everything seems to be right (gone through the various info on the DRI
wiki) - but .... drm is not behaving .. :-/
I'm stuck - getting the below message from X.org.0.log:
drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0
drmOpenDevice: open result is -1, (No such file or directory)
drmOpenDevice: open result is -1, (No such file or directory)
drmOpenDevice: Open failed
[drm] failed to load kernel module "radeon"
(II) RADEON(0): [drm] drmOpen failed
(EE) RADEON(0): [dri] DRIScreenInit failed. Disabling DRI.
has anybody gotten 'direct rendering' to work with an Ati Mobility 9000
gpu on a similar centrino platform ??
