okay , I am getting an error message.
Slacker# cp smapi.tar.gz /tmp/
Slacker# cd /tmp
Slacker# tar zxvf smapi.tar.gz
Slacker# cd /tmp/usr.sbin/smapi
Slacker# make all install
--Lots of compiling stuff--
smapi_config.o smapi_power.o smapi_action.o bcd.o
gzip -cn smapi.8 > smapi.8.gz
install -s -o root -g wheel -m 555   smapi

Stop in /tmp/usr.sbin/smapi.
