S3 and/or S4 modes for Sony Vaio PCG-v505?

I tried that after I read your posting a while back, but it doesn't do 
anything either.  The drive doesn't spin up or appear to do anything.  
The laptop doesn't appear to respond to anything from the keyboard, or 
anything else for that matter.
