dstumbler doesn't work with the Orinoco/Lucent chips. Historically these
chips have been much more opaque in terms of what one can do with them.

Whilst the PRISM2 and Orinoco chipsets are very similar in terms of
their register interface, under the hood they are very different. It
is because of their similarity that FreeBSD supports them with the
same driver, but their capabilities are far different; this is largely
due to what can be done with the combination of card and firmware.

Yes. dstumbler only supports PRISM2.x chipsets.
