I've had luck with Netgear MA401 PCMCIA cards in a Belkin F5D6000 PLX PCI
adapter.
The MA401 uses the Prism chipset and the Belkin adapter is PCI 2.1
You can find these on eBay. I've had good luck with the two sets I have.
I've upgraded the firmware to the latest and have used them in Access
Point mode with HostAP drivers. Worked fine with some generic ADMtek cards.
This page was helpful, though you have to watch out since some brands
change chipsets without changing the model numbers.

Read some bad things about the quality of MA401 cards on the web, but the
two I have seem to be fine. Haven't really stressed them though.
