ACPI and wi (Danger Will Robinson!)

Hi,
Today I suspended my Laptop, ejected my wi card.
Later i woke it up again and after that reinjected the wi card.
Now something strange happend. The system did not notice that the wi device
was missing when it woke up. It looks like ACPI just stores the information
somewhere and did not probe the device on wake up. (ACPI bug?)
After I reinjected the card, it did not notice, that the injected card has
the same mac address as the other card. Shouldn't the networking code
detect something like that?
So now I had two cards:

With the two devices it was not possible to ping anything. So I had to reboot.
