I bought my Latitude 1.5 years ago, although it was offered in sections
Small Business and higher. I just ordered it as a private person, did not
have any problems. I think Dell is the option to consider. BTW, I dropped
it twice, the only consequence was that after the first fall coolers fell
asleep for a couple of days, but then returned to regular operation by
themselves. I chose an Inspiron for my wife a year ago and found Dell
website that time quite helpful. She dropped it several times since then,
the worst one was when it slipped out from her backpack (the zipper
spontaneously unfastened while she was walking), no consequences at all.
One day the LCD on my Latitude decided that it is of 1600x1200 resolution
(instead of 1400x1050 it used to be). It was replaced by Dell technician
on the next day. I found the second media bay very useful when decided to
add the second HDD.
Best,
Alex
