X freezes my Sony Vaio PCG-F801

Ditto for the IBM Thinkpad A30p. I'm not sure about ping, but I'd guess it
stops. Machine becomes totally unresponsive and I have to hold down the power
button for 5 seconds to shut it off. Doesn't happen if I do a complete power
off and then load X. This is something I might try to debug with the software
watchdog and a serial console sometime...

I can't remember if it did that when I had Debian installed or not...

Warm boot of FreeBSD works fine here. I personally think it's a video card/driver
issue since it only hangs upon loading X11. Console works fine.
