ACPI/PCI-bus issue with compaq evo n160

I for one was never able to get anywhere when the 'mount / lockup'
occured :-( I hope Fredrik fares better here..

And this machine does not have a serial port (well, it does, but you
need a docking station to get access to it; a ds I do not own).
