F5 Networks Senior Kernel/Software Engineer - Appliance
Implement and maintain features/functionality for F5 products.
Document software designs via functional specifications and other design
documents.
Perform in a senior and/or lead capacity on a project team(s).
Work within a customized BSD kernel and tune, sustain, and re-evaluate
the design and implementation of current source code.
Work closely with team members and the support team to quickly diagnose
and resolve problems.
Conduct internal and external presentations; communicate with technical
and non-technical colleagues and customers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor degree in computer/engineering related field or equivalent work
experience.
3+ years working directly with a BSD-style kernel, or directly on TCP/IP
stacks in a Unix environment.
5+ years professional experience including in Unix/Linux, specifically
BSD/OS, FreeBSD, NetBSD or OpenBSD
Experience in enterprise class network software development.
Ability to interact with users of the product.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking as well as other network
protocols.
C/C++ as well as other languages.
Web Technologies including HTTP, SOAP, XML.
Background in the following also highly desirable: Authentication and
Authorization Systems, DDoS, IDS, VPNs, SSL, IPSec, L2TP, GRE, MPLS.
Proven track record in enterprise class systems development.
Knowledge and expertise in software engineering methodologies.
Ability to rapidly pick up new technologies.
Conveys thoughts clearly in both written and verbal communications.
Proven ability to deliver products with highest quality and on time.
Demonstrable appreciation for user experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Normal office environment with daily use of computers.
