openjdk8 does exist in the FreeBSD ports tree, so you might want
to install that and give it a shot.

If you have some sort of blog or web page where you can post all
the steps to reproduce the problem, that might be good.  When posting to
multiple mailing lists sometimes details get lost for complicated issues
like this, so sometimes it is good
to have it in one place.

Sorry I can't help more.  I hope you get the OpenNMS issues fixed.
