Is the port jdk16 up to date ?

I went through the archives at Sun forums and I understood that the best is 
to wait
for full transition to OpenJDK 7 or "backport" branch OpenJDK6.

If I undestood the plan for FreeBSD correctly, there will be new ports like 
java/openjdk[67] ?
