Here's a hint from your errror:

    > gnome-config: not found
    > Package gnome-vfs-module-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config 
search path.
    > Perhaps you should add the directory containing 
`gnome-vfs-module-2.0.pc'
    > to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
    > No package 'gnome-vfs-module-2.0' found

I guess someone needs to add a dependancy to the Makefile
