[PATCH] plugins aborts with SIG11 whan any applet pops up a dialog window

It seems I had to fix this myself.  Fortunately the fix was simple
enough, see below.

Please could someone commit this patch.

The testcase was in my previous email, if someone wants to verify.

BTW, the installation of the jdk14 port installs a few directories with
the wrong permissions:
