Cut'n'paste w/ Java graphical apps in XFree86

Hi folks,

MY Java development productivity has increased to the point where my
biggest irritation is cut'n'paste between graphical Java apps (AWT and
Swing) and other XFree86 windows (like xterms).

At the moment, I use clumsy old xclipboard as a middle-man to broker
these cut'n'pastes.

Is there a better trick for merging these two cut'n'paste buffers?
