Patchset 3, libc_r.
But it seems that not all Windows 2000 Advanced Server installations
have this problem.
I can get about the same number of threads running on a single-CPU box
with no service pack. So I've narrowed it down to either broken
Hyperthreading (HTT) support in Windows 2000, or a problem with service
pack 3 or 4.
And can you believe that Microsoft Support want $246 to tell me the
answer, even though it's OBVIOUSLY a glitch in their software. A server
license buys you no warranty or support other than media replacement in
the event of a defective CDROM. :-)
Windows. What a waste of time.
Ciao,
Sheldon.
