i386/122008: Fdisk fails. Cannot install 7.0 Release on P5VD2-MX with Maxtor PATA

 In the meantime I tried some other options :
 
 - Installed 6.3 RELEASE , same error
 - Installed 7.0 RELEASE once again, same error.
 - Installed 8.0 CURRENT 2008/03, same error
 
 Error details  :
 (I wrote them down this time ;-) )
 
 sysinstall show error box with : "Unable to write data to disk ad0"
 In tty0 is see the folowing error for about 40 times :
 READ_DMA UDMA ICRC ERROR
 READ_DMA STATUS 51
 
 Note that this system has been running FBSD since 6.1 and was upgraded over
 time to 6.3
 This system ran fine on the (two) sata disks thate were originally in.
 The replacement PATA is a brand new Maxtor DiamondMax 21/80GB PATA 2MB.
