 Hello,
 
 The described behaviour is more than expected.  You must have the same
 duplex sets on both sides of the link (i.e. NIC and switch port).
 Moreover, media autoselection is often works unreliable or doesn't
 work as expected.
 
 I don't see what we need to fix in FreeBSD really.
