All works now - WWW, CVSUP, RSYNC to users and from ftp-master.
We got
/dev/stripe/data    289G    257G    8.9G    97%    /mnt/storage2
/dev/stripe/gs0     677G    257G    413G    38%    /mnt/storage
data is the old ftp, gs0 is the new one on which sync takes place.
