rsync grunts

Does anyone know how to fix this:

rsync: opendir "/ports/i386/packages-7-current/All" (in FreeBSD)
failed: Permission denied (13)
rsync error: some files could not be transferred (code 23) at main.c(1173)

We use rsync  version 2.6.5  protocol version 29
