Hello,
Sorry for the delay, not much time during the week. Same problems with
10.x, which probably isn't all that surprising.
The snippet was typed incorrectly in my email, sorry about that; it's
correct in the file. I checked it at least three times, since it wasn't
working. After getting mrsas to load I get this instead:
AVAGO MegaRAID SAS FreeBSD mrsas driver version: 06.712.04.00-fbsd
mrsas0: <AVAGO Fury SAS Controller> port 0xb000-0xb0ff mem
0xfe600000-0xfe60ffff,0xfe500000-0xfe5fffff irq 16 at device 0.0 on pci6
mrsas0: Using MSI-X with 3 number of vectors
mrsas0: FW supports <96> MSIX vector,Online CPU 3 Current MSIX <3>
mrsas0: IOC Init failed, status = 0x3
mrsas0: Adapter initialize Fail.
device_attach: mrsas0 attach returned 6
Attached is the full dmesg and pciconf output. Here I believe is the
pciconf entry for the problem card:
none1 at pci0:6:0:0: class=0x010400 card=0x93411000 chip=0x005f1000
rev=0x02 hdr=0x00
vendor = 'LSI Logic / Symbios Logic'
device = 'MegaRAID SAS-3 3008 [Fury]'
class = mass storage
subclass = RAID
This is currently a FreeBSD 9.0 (FreeNAS) storage server using the onboard
SATA ports, and I'm trying to update the OS and add some more ports to
migrate the array from RAIDZ3 to mirrors. The mps device is a cheap $30
IT-flashed card I bought to see if that would work as a fall-back, but I
haven't plugged anything into it yet.
Thanks,
Josh
P.S. I keep thinking "mister sass" in my head whenever I read mrsas. It has
helped a surprising amount with the frustration.
