RTL8188EU Wifi adapter - what i am missing

Just wanted to add that I've seen an almost identical error with my
netgear AC600 with rtwn . If I switch from the normal network to the
guest network (which is only 2.4Ghz) then it works reliably and the error
doesn't occur. Very slow, but at least reliable.

The normal network that I sometimes get this error  on is one of those
5ghz/2.4ghz simultaneous ones, and my machine says it uses 2.4 on
it. I'm guessing that's the problem since the 2.4-only network is fine.
