Yes, I had problems with booting it too. Loader hang on boot.
But I solved this by attaching hard drives to built-in Promise raid controller.
This is ASUS A8V motherboard. Older releases, such as 8.0, runs fine on it without
problems at all.

No, they always SIGSEGV. Sometimes with stack overflow.
