ddb> cont after manual break does not work

Hi,

I filed a bug [1] a while back of something I keep seeing (and by now on 
IPMI console, legacy serial console, and keyboard):

The short form is

# sysctl debug.kdb.enter=1
ddb> cont
[console dead]

Has anyone else experience this (especially on amd64)?
Does anyone have any idea of what could cause this?

If you had any idea, I’d assume following up on the bug might be best.
