Which HDMI stick for info display?

I'm about to set up a TV as kind of a public info display, and I'm wondering what hardware might be best suited.

The system will show web pages using Chrome (remote controlled through chromedriver), so the hardware requirements are moderate.  I think I need a system that:
- can drive 1920x1080 through HDMI
- can run Chrome smoothly for most web pages
- has good stability:
  - working watchdog
  - will turn on automatically after a power outage
  - will turn on when the TV is turned on
- stable Wifi as primary network connection
- can ideally play h264 video in Chrome without issues
- decent mounting option behind a wall-mounted TV

Since I will usually only be able to touch the system remotely, system stability and Wifi/network stability are really important.

The Intel Compute Stick seems to be an obvious contender, also a NUC. Has anyone had practical experience with such a system and can recommend hardware? ARM or MIPS are also acceptable, as long as the driver situation is OK.

Quality is the major concern, price not so much (budget is about $500).
