Well, the problem with the drive not recognizing has been fixed with
CURRENT. The inability to boot freebsd still occured with the latest
snapshot so FreeBSD's not perfect on it. I may temporarily downgrade
back to STABLE(and keep a CURRENT in /boot for when I want to use the
drive even if it means rebooting). In anycase, here's the relevant
lines in dmesg.
atapci0: <VIA 6420 SATA150 controller> port
0xe100-0xe107,0xe700-0xe703,0xe800-0xe807,0xe900-0xe903,0xe000
-0xe00f,0xd000-0xd0ff irq 20 at device 15.0 on pci0
atapci0: [ITHREAD]
ata2: <ATA channel 0> on atapci0
ata2: [ITHREAD]
ata3: <ATA channel 1> on atapci0
ata3: [ITHREAD]
acd0: DVDR <LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1S/9L05> at ata2-master SATA150
WARNING: WITNESS option enabled, expect reduced performance.
GEOM_LABEL: Label for provider acd0 is iso9660/FreeBSD_bootonly.
So now comes the next two questions, any ETA on getting into STABLE and
how about the loader not crashing?
