Fwd: CMOS Checksum error

I hate replying to my own messages however,
the problem occurs in both 4.10 and 5.3-RELEASE 
The system is a Compaq Presario
with VIA apollo chipset with a pentiumIII 500MHz 
with 320MB of RAM
