ATAPI DVDwriters (not) to buy?

I just bought one of these wrapped in an IDE<->USB/Firewire interface.  I
haven't tried the dual-layer disks yet (none lying around), but it appears
to work just fine with regular DVD+R.  The only gotcha is that USB is really
too slow; I'll be connecting it via firewire shortly.

Otherwise, no problems so far.
