I can also confirm this on FreeBSD 12.0 amd64 with

 * webkit2-gtk3-2.22.5
 * nvidia-driver-390.87_1

I spotted the error with liferea-1.12.6_1 looking at heise.de.

Running liferea with

    WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 liferea

does indeed help.
