Font line spacing change?

I tried switching to TT metrics, but no improvement. I also tried going
back to V38, not that seemed likely. Again, no change.
I rolled back to 2.7.1 and it works correctly again. This is using
Bitstream Vera Sans Mono. I am attaching an image of another 24x80
mate-terminal that is correct and will open a ticket on this shortly.
