gnome upgrade for lazy users

After catching up with the relevant changes in /usr/ports/UPDATING, I
think the best thing to do is just upgrade everything that needs it.
But before running the big portmaster upgrade, you will definitely need
to take care of a few UPDATING maintenance items, or you are going to
have a bad time.
