Gnumeric print failure

After the upgrade from 1.9.7 to 1.9.9 Gnumeric can no longer print. When
I attempt to print, gnumeric exits silently. No error. No core file.

I suspect that this may be an up-stream problem, but I was wondering if
anyone else has seen it.
