I'm running on:
FreeBSD shumai.marcuscom.com 7.2-PRERELEASE FreeBSD 7.2-PRERELEASE #46:
Sat Apr 18 15:13:13 EDT 2009

And pulseaudio works fine. Can you upgrade to the latest -STABLE, and
see if the problem goes away?
