I rebuilt gnome2 completely, and used that flag in make.conf.
Same problem. I also have issues printing from Evolution -- the
preview is correct, saving as a PDF and printing that is fine, but
using straight print chops the margins.

I wonder if some of this is due to old config files. Many of these
date back to the 2.4 era, and they may be stale (even though I used
mergemaster along the way, usually).

Nevertheless, I will try to rebuild libgnomeprint and gtk20 and see
what happens.

One last question: is there a complete list of daemons that should be
started for Gnome? Right now I have:

 dbus_enable="YES"
 polkitd_enable="YES"
 hald_enable="YES"
 system_tools_backends_enable="YES"
 avahi_daemon_enable="YES"
 avahi_dnsconfd_enable="YES"

and use .xinitrc to start it. Am I missing any?

Frank
