Can't install glib-2.12.4

Hi,
 
We are going to install Courier as our new mail server and it need
glib-2.12.4. But I just cannot install it. It keep saying : No iconv()
implementation found in C library or libiconv. I have all the dependent
packages installed. What have I missed?
