Gedit crashing on Gnome 2.16

Last night I tried creating a new user and starting Gnome as that new
user. All the sudden Gedit ran flawlessly. Are there any particular
files I might try to remove in order to "reset" Gedit??

Then you'll have to get a backtrace with symbols since I cannot
reproduce.
