Firefox 2.0 doesn't open downloaded files

Thaks for the quick response, sorry to be creating more work for you.

I have tried symlinking to the java 1.4.2 plugin (both in
/usr/local/lib/browser_plugins and in /usr/X11R6/lib/browser_plugins )

FF2 crashes with java enabled, no matter which plugin I link to. FF1.5.0.7
doesn't crash and works with either plugin.

Is there info I can provide to help ?
