Firefox 2.0 doesn't open downloaded files

I believe I have found the cause of this.  Edit firefox's Makefile, and
remove the line:

LIBS=           -Wl,-Bsymbolic -lc

Then rebuild Firefox.  You should be able to open attachments once
again.  Your other problems may be fixed as well.
