No, they would not be automatically recreate. ~/.config holds custom
menu definitions. This directory is usually created by apps like
gnome-menu-editor and alacarte. ~/.local holds custom MIME types and
custom document "openers." You may want to move this directory back if
you've made such customizations.

This is a useless error. The useful information comes from
running /usr/X11R6/libexec/gnome-settings-daemon from the command line.
