| hi,

| Im a bit stuck atm.
| I tried to upgrade gnome from 2.8 to 2.10 using the
| upgrade script and it only upgraded about 1/4 of all
| the gnome bits. I had to then go to the ports of
| gnome2 and install it via that way.
|
| When i try running gdm i get coredumps and a message
| saying that it would change to another greeter. I can
| login however, gnome doesn't start only bare bones
| window stuff starts.
|
| However, when i try to run startx in my home
| directory. gnome 2.10 starts up fine.
|
| Any ideas on how to fix gdm?
Sounds like gdm might be linked to old libraries still. You may not
have a complete upgrade. I'm certain:
portupgrade -Rf gdm
Will fix the problem, but you might be able to find a more tactical
solution by examining shared library links on your system.
