gnome 2.6 -> 2.8 upgrade

While trying to upgrade gnome to 2.8, the gnome_upgrade28.sh failed
during the build of libglade2 with problems with the libgnome-2.4.0.tar.bz2
package, with either the md5 signature didn't match or the local modification
time does not match remote.

So I rm'ed devel/libglade2, re-cvsup'ed and tried a build in that 
library.  It still fails with the local modification time does not
match remote.

Any pointers/hints on what to do now.
